We will photograph your wedding in a style that suits your taste and your plans for the day. Most clients now prefer a low key candid approach variously known as Documentary, Reportage, or Photojournalist styles. This means the photographer records the story of your wedding with the minimum of intervention direction or posing. Its a marvellous way of capturing the real emotion of the day. We do recommend that you set aside about 30 minutes to complete some semi-formal shots of the bride and groom, the parents, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and a few groups - that is your call.

You may prefer a more traditional style or a greater proportion of classic timeless shots and groups. No problem. We know how to pose people quickly and flatteringly!

We shoot traditional Chinese and Indian ceremonies and receptions, Muslim nikahs and walimas, and other Asian weddings which can last for two or more days.

Couples planning civil partnerships are most welcome. Hopefully civil ceremonies will in due course be officially known as weddings but for now we must struggle on with this ungainly description! Throughout this website all references to weddings also refer to civil partnerships.

We have a wide variety of top-class professional photographic equipment plus backup. This includes weatherproof camera bodies and lenses which work in very low light, and a full mobile studio with powerful mains or battery powered lighting to ensure shooting can continue regardless of what the elements may throw at us. Very important if you're planning a winter wedding!

Weddings are always shot by Peter Riding, the proprietor of Ashton Lamont (every image on this wedding site has been shot by Peter). A second photographer or assistant may attend larger weddings with your consent but this is not encouraged in order to keep the coverage as unobtrusive as possible (teams are used for non-wedding events).
