Not all images "work" in black and white. Some have been selected as suitable for conversion and can be viewed within the main galleries. Others can be uploaded for you on request.

Guests - no highspeed internet access? Please request a free CD of these galleries (please note that images are watermarked and not printable).

Please forward this event to your friends and relations – Ashton Lamont does not collect guests email addresses at weddings but there are always lots of requests to view the galleries. And remember Facebook, MySpace, Bebo etc!

We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.

Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number.

All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6.

Background Information:

Sue and Paul chose a short duration wedding photography package for their a low key wedding ceremony at Reading Register Office, with the emphasis on formal photography. Photography during the ceremony at this Office is rather hit and miss, with some registrars allowing it but most not. On this occasion photography was not allowed so the galleries contain just a few "stolen" shots.

Afterwards we worked our way through Sue's extensive list of formal photographs of the close family and friends who were invited. Peter always recommends you do this before the day and things went like clockwork.

The Register Office (sometimes incorrectly called the Registry Office) has decent area to the front which is suitable as a backdrop. Do note though that if you plan to get married at Reading Register Office there is no area inside the building suitable for formal photography in the event of poor weather. Also on busy days weddings are completed in quick succession and the time available for exclusive use outside can be very limited. Some couples like to make the short trip to the ornamental Forbury Gardens in the town centre for their formal wedding photos. You do not need a permit for reasonable use of Forbury Gardens (but do check if the regulations have changed) but you should notify the parks department.

We then adjourned to the Calcot Hotel in west Reading for the wedding reception.
