Not all images "work" in black and white. Some have been selected as suitable for conversion and can be viewed within the main galleries. Others can be uploaded for you on request.
Guests - no highspeed internet access? Please request a free CD of these galleries (please note that images are watermarked and not printable).
Please forward this event to your friends and relations – Ashton Lamont does not collect guests email addresses at weddings but there are always lots of requests to view the galleries. And remember Facebook, MySpace, Bebo etc!
We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.
Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number. All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6. |

St Marys Church Kidlington Oxfordshire, otherwise known as St Mary the Virgin, was the venue for this early summer marriage ceremony. The vicar is a friend of the bride's father from when they were school boys and this may have helped me in obtaining unrestricted permission to shoot during the ceremony. Photography inside the church is pretty straightforward both from the rear and from the front on the groom's side - enabling shots of the bride's face to be taken, which is always a highly desirable part of the photographic coverage.
From St Marys we travelled a few miles south to Somerville College near Oxford city centre for the reception. Its always struggle with Oxford city centre locations because of the diffficulty of finding parking so that heavy backup equipment is readily available; photographers note that you can reserve parking at Somerville College as they do have a limited area available. The college has many photogenic areas both outside and inside. It also has a fascinating library where you can read contemporary accounts of famous historical events such as the finding of the missionary David Livingstone in central Africa by the explorer and journalist Henry Stanley.
We had strong sunshine for most of the day - which all brides like but which can be a photographers nightmare because of the extremes of contrast. We completed some formal photography in the evening once the light was a bit more forgiving. This was followed by dancing to a ceilidh band - pronounced "kailey".
