Background Information
Rebecca and Tristan chose St Joseph's Church Newbury for their marriage ceremony. The church is fairly spacious and light around the alter area and there are no onerous rules regarding photography so photographers should be able to obtain a nice selection of images during the wedding.
Their August wedding had what seems to have become typical August weather in the UK - lots of rain morning noon and night. We shot some essential images outside St Joseph's and then headed off to Elcot Park hoping for a bit of sunshine.
The wedding breakfast and reception were close by at Elcot Park, or to give this former home of the Poet Shelley's family its full name the Ramada Newbury Elcot Park Hotel!
The hotel has some lovely grounds but unfortunately we weren't able to use them due to the poor weather. Oh well! Eventually we shot some of the couples' formal images in the foyer, and others with the participants standing in the shelter of the main entrance whilst Ashton Lamont braved it in the pouring rain. Waterproof photographic equipment is a lot more expensive than normal kit but its at times like this I'm glad I paid the extra!
