Background Information
Michelle and Wale selected Glaziers Hall London Bridge for their wedding ceremony and reception. Being in central London Glaziers Hall is ideally placed for couples who have guests travelling from all parts of the World as obviously it is easily accessible from Heathrow Gatwick Stanstead and London City airports. But if you are to travel by car be sure to check out the local parking beforehand and be particularly careful to study the immediate area as the one-way road system can be confusing. If you are a wedding vendor with heavy equipment such as a photographer then the manager of Glaziers Hall can arrange on-street parking outside the venue if you give sufficient notice.
Weddings at Glaziers Hall can make use of a number of beautiful rooms including the River Room overlooking the River Thames, the library, and the huge banqueting hall.
We were lucky with the weather for this October wedding and were able to venture outside onto London Bridge for some photographs of the couple and the wedding party. There are other suitable areas outside including small courtyards beside the river and some areas in the yard of the adjacent Southwark Cathedral (though the space here is very limited).
This wedding was a great mixture of West Indian and Nigerian cultures with lots of colour and exuberance. UK based wedding photographers should be aware that weddings with a West Indian or African connection tend to be much more relaxed than the typical Anglo-Saxon wedding; expect to be competing for space and shots with lots of enthusiastic photographers and videographers, and do not expect the timetable to run to plan!
