Background Information
The beautiful parish church of Burghclere hosted this summer wedding. It was a wet start but there are great shots to be had in the rain! Photography was permitted during the ceremony, but the layout of this church restricts access to the front and therefore shooting must take place from the sides and the back. Most of the churchyard is devoted to natural vegetation rather than formal gardens. The wedding reception was at the prestigious Highclere Castle just a few minutes away. The interior of the castle is gorgeous and the exterior imposing; make sure you check out the spectacular "Secret Gardens" for great backdrops for your formal photos.
The couple chose a reportage or photo-journalist style for most of the day.
If you like equestrian events visit the International Horse Trials held in the castle grounds at the end of August each year. Photographers will love it - you can get up real close to the top stars like William Fox-Pitt and Zara Phillips and shoot the dressage, show jumping and cross country.
