St Peters Church Clearwell hosted this May wedding. Photography was allowed during the ceremony but it should be noted that the layout and very low light within the building restricts the range of shots that are possible. The wedding reception was a short walk away at the gorgeous crusader style Clearwell Castle. The weather was windy and with heavy showers so we weren't able to make as much use of the superb gardens as is normally possible. Vicky and Philip travelled from their home in London to enjoy this lovely venue.
If you are planning a civil ceremony at the castle you should be aware that the local registrars impose draconian restrictions on photography during the ceremony - some of my colleagues have not been allowed to take any shots at all other than a fake signing of the register; if only some registrars could be as enlightened as their colleagues in for example Windsor or Westminster where you'll see from our sample galleries that no such silliness applies!
The couple chose a reportage or photo-journalist style for most of the day.
All images are shot in colour. The sample gallery contains a small selection which have been converted to black and white.
