Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number.

All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6.

Background Information:

Michelle and Ashley chose the lovely riverside Great House At Sonning Hotel near Reading Berkshire for both their marriage ceremony and their wedding reception.

The Great House At Sonning has been a very popular wedding venue for many years and just a brief browse through the galleries will show you why. It has a terrific position just yards from the River Thames and the picturesque old Sonning Bridge. Outside the gardens are sunny, wellsized, and well maintained. There is a large terrace running the length of the hotel on which everyone can relax with their drinks. Inside the function rooms and bars are varied and again well maintained. There is a good amount of parking available to the rear for guests.

The registrars who conduct weddings and civil partnership ceremonies at the Great House At Sonning Hotel are easy to work with and no nasty surprises await professional photographers - just use common sense and you will be able to shoot a good selection of photos during the ceremony.

Michelle and Ashley had an intimate ceremony with just a few immediate family and friends attending. Later in the day the hotel positively heaved as lots of evening guests arrived. This plan works particularly well if you choose to have your wedding on a weekday as guests can still join in the fun in the evening but there are less worries about getting time off work.

Some of the best views of the Great House At Sonning are actually from the nearby bridge over the River Thames. In the photo below you can see the hotel in the foreground together with the tops of its terrace parasols. The grassy area in the immediate foreground is part of the towpath and is a great location for some setpiece photographs of the bride and groom, with the bridge in the background:

In the photo below you can see the ceremony in progress. Sometimes the room is arranged so that the couple are positioned near the far wall and with the guests therefore facing away from the camera position in this photo. That arrangement is an easier shoot as photographers do not have to deal with strong backlight from the terrace windows to the right but the layout shown is certainly very photogenic:

The registrars are easy-going and so its possible for professional photographers to shoot a comprehensive selection of photos whilst the ceremony is in progress. The photo below illustrates the "backlight" issue mentioned earlier; bright light behind the subject is very difficult for even the best photographic equipment to handle and the resolution always takes a hit. Sometimes flashguns can be used to help compensate but that is not usually allowed or even appropriate during marriage vows:

The staff at the Great House Sonning always make a terrific job of preparing the rooms for wedding breakfasts and receptions. In this photo the room has been quickly and efficiently turned around after the ceremony ready for the intimate wedding breakfast:

A barbeque is a popular option for Summer parties on the hotel's extensive terraces. Wedding couples can arrange for exclusive use of many parts of the hotel including the terraces:

On Michelle and Ashleys' day we adjourned inside for the speeches as they were quite late in the evening. For these we used the other main function room which also adjoins the terraces:

What better way to spend a warm Summer evening than out in the fresh air having a drink and chatting with friends. The church tower in the photo below is that of St Andrews Church Sonning, which is also a popular choice for marriage ceremonies:
