Please forward this event to your friends and relations – Ashton Lamont does not collect guests email addresses at weddings but there are always lots of requests to view the galleries. And remember Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bebo etc!
We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.
Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number. All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6. |

Stephanie and Kris chose the popular combination of the Church of the Ascension Burghclere and Highclere Castle near Newbury Berkshire for their marriage ceremony and wedding reception.
Stephanie and the girls got ready at Highclere Castle in the gorgeously appointed first floor rooms which themselves are regularly featured in photoshoots. The boys prepared at a local hotel and then decamped to the Carpenters Arms near Burghclere Church for a swift dose of Dutch courage.
The Rector of Burghclere Church is very well disposed to professional photographers and so it was possible to shoot a good selection of images during the ceremony. The church itself is quite easy to move positions within, without causing a distraction; but as with many ancient buildings it can be a challenge to shoot in the low light so "fast" lenses and camera bodies with good high-ISO performances are the order of the day.
The church grounds are quite full with previous residents of the parish so its tricky to find a large area in which to shoot groups. Most couples have these photos completed at their reception venue.
Highclere Castle is a short trot South from the church. As always the staff gave a polished and professional service.
The weather on the day was quite changeable and indeed we had heavy rain showers in the morning. Fortunately it cleared up in the afternoon and we were able to make a lot of use of Highclere's lovely Secret Gardens for the various formal photos.
If you think you recognise Highclere Castle that may indeed be the case as its a regular film location, for example for ITV's Downton Abbey.
If you have equestrian interests then Highclere Castle's regular August Bank Holiday Horse Trials are highly recommended. The dressage showjumping and cross country stages attract some international stars and photographers will appreciate the opportunity to get up close for some great action pics!
The rector at Burghclere Church Newbury is fine with professional photography during the ceremony. The physical design of the interior does make it quite technically demanding though. The photo below shows the groom as he sees his gorgeous bride for the first time.

If you ever fancied getting married at Downton Abbey having seen it featured in ITV's excellent period drama, well here it is after dark in the photo below.
