A Christmas wedding at The Mill House Hotel Swallowfield just a few minutes drive from Reading Berkshire. It is a popular wedding venue and has been so for decades. I have worked there lots of times shooting both photography and video as well as attending as a wedding guest.
It is a private venue rather than one of a chain of hotels and this makes it extra special as a lovely characterful choice. The gardens are always well looked after and varied so are terrific for photogenic backdrops even in mid winter. Plenty of free car parking behind the venue.
The conservatory is a good choice for your wedding ceremony. It is great if weather permitting the ceremony can take place in the gardens.
Hayley and Jordan booked singing waiters for their evening. It was fantastic though photos do not do it justice – you need video for that. The singers started with Italian songs including Shaddap You Face by Joe Dolce and Nessun Dorma by Luciano Pavarotti and moved on to Abba and much else. Lots of guests joined in and the dancefloor was packed!
