St Andrews Church Sonning on the Thames riverbank near Reading in Berkshire is a lovely photogenic wedding venue both inside and outside

Background Information and Highlights

The bride and groom featured in this gallery chose St Andrews Church Sonning for their wedding ceremony. The church is gorgeous both internally and externally and I have worked there several times. It is on the riverbank next to the bridge and right opposite The Great House At Sonning - another popular wedding venue I have worked at many times!

It is on the eastern outskirts of Reading. Parking is tricky because of the olde-world narrow lanes so do advise your guests to allow plenty of time. There is private parking at The Great House but it soon fills up!

Our couple had one heck of a wet day having followed weeks of rain. It was touch and go whether the River Thames would be too high for the riverboats to sail under the bridges but there was just about enough space. Yikes! The guests loved travelling on the riverboat to the reception venue downstream.

The wedding reception was at Greenlands near Henley On Thames and Marlow. Greenlands is better known as the World-famous Henley Business School but don’t be put off by the academic name - the building and the grounds are absolutely to die for. I have also worked at Greenlands several times including a gay wedding ceremony and reception at this venue.
