Guests - no highspeed internet access? Please request a free CD of these galleries (please note that images are watermarked and not printable).
Please forward this event to your friends and relations – Ashton Lamont does not collect guests email addresses at weddings but there are always lots of requests to view the galleries. And remember Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bebo etc!
We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.
Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number. All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6. |

Sarah and Damon chose the Berkshire village church of St John the Baptist Cookham Dean near Maidenhead for their marriage ceremony. Its a lovely old building maintained very well both inside and out by its little army of volunteers.
Our officiant on duty on the day was very pleasant and easy to work with - no silly rules for professional photographers to have to work within, just use common sense! Thats the good news. Now the bad, if it can be considered bad: the interior of the church was not designed for photography and as with many older buildings it can be quite a challenge to achieve the most desirable angles. Our acting priest couldn't have been more helpful, allowing shooting from the rear, from one side at the front, and even from forward of the choir stalls (though the choir members do inevitably obscure the view from that position). However the bride and groom are positioned almost underneath the ornate wooden arch just to the rear of the choir stalls for the vows and ring exchange making full face and ring shots impossible. Oh well!
We planned for just a few posed photos in the churchyard, with the remainder to be completed at the reception venue.
Confetti is allowed outside one of the main gates at St John the Baptist Church Cookham Dean.
From the church we made the short journey to the Taplow House Hotel on the outskirts of Maidenhead for the wedding breakfast and reception. The Taplow House Hotel has been a busy wedding venue for many years and as always the staff ran everything like clockwork. The hotel has large grounds good for photography and there are areas inside the hotel which can also be used in the event of poor weather.
In the photo below you can see the main entrance gate to St John the Baptist Church Cookham Dean. Extensive exterior repairs and maintenance had just been completed and the volunteers had made a great job of sprucing up the churchyard:

Inside the church shooting can be quite a challenge because of its layout, but fortunately the officiants are very co-operative and mindful of the requirements of professional photographers. You can see the signing of the wedding register in progress in the photo below, something which many churches do not allow at all unless it it set up with a blank register and posed:

Confetti is permitted outside the main gates and this makes for some great photos. Peter aims to stay in the background for much of the day but at certain points he will take the lead, for example to set up the confetti throw as shown below:

Entering the large grounds of the Taplow House Hotel Maidenhead, and the first thing you see is the imposing exterior of the front of the hotel as shown in the photo below. The terraces make a very pleasant location for drinks and nibbles before the wedding breakfast:

Its nice to get a group shot of everyone who has attended the wedding. At the Taplow House Hotel Peter usually sets this up on the upper terrace and stairs as you can see below. On a sunny day this area is less suitable for high quality smaller group photos and these are usually completed under the shade of some trees on the lawns, as you will see in the main galleries:

The hotel's main wedding reception room is bright and well lit by natural light. You can see it set out ready for the wedding breakfast below:

The Taplow House Hotel Maidenhead can look great after dark. Peter will often shoot the photo shown below to use in wedding album designs as it works great as a double page spread with smaller images from the evening montaged onto it:
