Background Information and Highlights

The delightful Victorian Town Hall in the centre of Wokingham was the venue of choice for our featured mature couple.

There are a couple of considerations when considering this venue - parking and suitable areas for outside photos with the guests. There is no parking at the Town Hall other than two cars allowed for the bridal party but there are car parks within walking distance - just make sure that the guests know that and can allow a little extra time. The interior of the building is great for photos but the immediate exterior is busy and pedestrianised. However there is the landscaped Howard Palmer Gardens just a short walk away.

The registration staff are pretty easy going and there are no onerous restrictions on professional photography and video during ceremonies.

Its possible to have drinks and nibbles within the Town Hall as part of the main function room can be set up for suchlike, and indeed this is exactly what our couple booked.

Once the ceremony and refreshments were completed we adjourned to the outside for confetti. Then on to a lovely local wedding venue for the rest of the day - the Great House at Sonning.

Do ensure that your guests do not confuse the Town Hall with the separate Wokingham Register Office which is about 400 yards walk away; it also offers wedding ceremonies at that location.
