Background Information and Highlights

Wokingham Registry Office - or to use its correct term “Register Office” - is located a short walk from the town centre in Shute End Wokingham.

Very important: there is no parking authorised at the Office including no dedicated wedding car space - other than for quick drop offs at your own risk! The car parks adjacent to the building are for council staff only from Mondays to Fridays and wardens patrol regularly so beware!. Saturdays and Sundays are available in these council car parks for the public but you must buy parking cover normally by using RingGo. The nearest parking is a few minutes walk away in Rectory Road but be aware that this car park serves the Waitrose supermarket so often it is full and has queuing. It also has a maximum stay of 1.5 hours. Further away are two short stay (up to four hours) car parks in Easthampstead Road West and in Denmark Street. These two car parks are close to Wokingham Town Hall so are a good choice if you plan to book the Town Hall rather than the registry office. In other words recommend your guests allow for plenty of time!

You’ll see from the photos in this gallery that the ceremony Office is quite small so numbers of guests are limited. Do consider alternatives such as the nearby Wokingham Town Hall or Bracknell Register Office with South Hill Park. There is a photogenic area outside the main entrance to the Wokingham Registry Office as you’ll see in this gallery and also a lawned area with mature trees and a lake behind the registry office a few yards walk down Biscoe Way. These are good for the must-have group and portrait photos which most couples like to have after their ceremony.

The first couple featured in this gallery had their ceremony here. They had combined photography and video. They did not require photo coverage of their reception at a nearby gastro-pub. The second bride and groom featured in this gallery (just a few photos here) had a small party with the guests in the restaurant at the nearby Easthampstead Park.
